Valentine’s Day Kids Letters

Valentine's Day Kids Letters #valentinesday #kidscraft #craftdestash

Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C’mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies! Everyone is allowed a $10 allowance for necessities to complete their project (i.e. paint brushes, glue, etc), but the bulk of it must be created from their own stash of goodies. This month I decided to make Valentine’s Day Kids Letters.

Valentine’s Day Kids Letters

Materials (for each letter):

1 – 9 x 12 sheet of felt
Small piece of red felt
Glue
Velcro
Fabric Paint

Directions:

Fold the felt sheet into thirds and finger press.

Cut the top third of the felt diagonally from the side edges to the center of the top edge.

Apply glue to the edge of the middle third and bring the bottom third up and press along the glued edge.

 Valentine's Day Kids Letters Directions

Fold the top triangle edge down and apply a piece of velcro to the inside of the point and the location where the point touches on the envelope.

Cut a small heart from the red felt. Turn the envelope over and glue it where a stamp would be applied.

Use fabric paint to write “Valentine” or any other name or words you’d like where the address goes.

You can also sew the edges like I did for the ones below. They are for my daughter’s pre-k class so they need to be a little more sturdy!

All of these supplies were in my craft stash so my additional cost was $0!

  8. This is cute! Kind of what I was going for with my Valentine’s envelope. I thought about using felt, but I wasn’t find a good tutorial I wanted to follow, so I crocheted it instead because my brain works better that way, hehe.
