June Dollar Store Craft Challenge – Patriotic No-Sew Pillow

Patriotic No-Sew Pillow for the June Dollar Store Craft Challenge from www.thisautoimmunelife.com

It’s time for the monthly craft challenge! For the month of June the challenge is to use dollar store products to create a craft. For this challenge I have created a Patriotic No-Sew Pillow from a dollar store scarf that is super easy to make!

Patriotic No-Sew Pillow:

Materials:

1 scarf from the dollar store
1 neck roll pillow or 10″ pillow form
Coordinating ribbon
Fabric glue or velcro

Neck Roll Pillow:
  1. Fold the scarf in half to find the center. Lay out the scarf so half of the scarf is flat. Center the pillow form on the half of the scarf laying flat.
  2. Fold the other half of the scarf over the top of the pillow form. Wrap it tightly around the pillow form. Then wrap the bottom of the scarf up around the sides. Make sure it is wrapped tightly.
  3. Twist the ends of the scarf.
  4. Tie the ribbon around the twisted scarf end. That’s it, you’re finished!
10″ Pillow:
  1. Wrap the scarf around the pillow form tightly. Mine went around twice so it would actually cover a pillow with another design on it.
  2. Use fabric glue or velcro dots to secure the edges front to the edges back. Super easy!Patriotic No-Sew Pillow

Such a quick craft and I love that you can easily change out the pillow for other seasons with a simple new scarf. Pinned.

  9. I made some no sew curtains once with fabric tape. They are still hanging in my living room! It’s amazing what you can do without sewing, but that is a skill I wish I had!

  10. Cute idea! Love anything no sew, especially something fast for a holiday or season.

  11. I love this idea! I’ve pinned it and plan on doing it next weekend! Thanks for sharing it on the Anything Goes party!

  12. I love using items from the dollar store to make pillow covers. I just made a few flag covers for my dining chairs and pillow covers using flag bandanas. I sewed mine, but this is great for those that don’t have a sewing machine.
