Teardrop Shaped Valentine Earrings

Welcome to the January Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures. How many pins do you have that you have never done anything with? Me too! So, the purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen! This month, I chose to make these Teardrop Shaped Valentine Earrings for my project. This is the pin that motivated me!
Teardrop Shaped Valentine Earrings
Materials:
Suede or Leather in color of your choice
Fishhook earring findings
Jump rings
Adhesive
Awl or other sharp object
Needle Nose Pliers
Directions:
After looking at this pin from Cori at Hey Let’s Make Stuff, I decided to design my own earring in Cricut Design Space. It was really easy if you want to design your own. Or you can click here to get the free file I designed.
If you want to design your own, click on the link at the bottom of this post to get a free teardrop shape from Freepik. Add it to your design space. Add a heart and then slice a smaller heart from the middle. Get rid of the small slice. Move the heart that is left over the teardrop shape and adjust to make them line up. Select all and weld the 2 pieces together. Then just duplicate it. Pretty easy!
If you want to use my file, just click on the link and add it to your uploads. Use either leather or suede to cut your file. I used a red suede from Cricut. It was kind of thin so I made 2 sets. Then I glued them together so there was red on both sides.
**Note – do not use spray adhesive with the suede. As you can see from my close up pictures, it kind of made a mess on the suede.
Use an awl, ice pick or other sharp object to poke a small hole near the top of the earrings. Then put the jump ring through the hole on the earring and through the bottom loop on the earring finding. Use needle nose pliers to open and close the jump ring.
That’s it! These would make a great gift for your co-workers (or of course yourself!)! Enjoy!

Those came out great! I have yet to try cutting any fabric of any kind with my Cricut.. not sure why that intimidates me so much but it does. LOL. Thanks for the free Cricut file; pinned.

What sweet earrings, they look easy to make too.
Bostik make some leather glue which I used for some coasters a little while ago that works really well – just incase you decide to go into mass production!
The cricut has opened up so many crafting possibilities! I know other people do it, but I can’t imagine trying to cut something small and intricate by hand.
These are so incredibly cute and just in time for Valentine’s Day. Love that you could use them year around too.
